MIMIKO CAUTIONS NURTW MEMBERS,

Mimiko cautions NURTW members, commission N152m Park

ONDO State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has advised members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, to shun entreaties from any political party that may want to use them for political violence in the coming election, stressing that such people should be advised to make use of their children instead.
Mimiko who made the statement at the commissioning of a N152 million ultra-modern motor park along Ondo Road in Akure, yesterday, lauded members of the union for their peaceful conduct, noting  “there is no gain saying the fact that NURTW is a critical sector of the society and that any investment on the union cannot be a waste as it is their right to enjoy dividends of democracy.
“Now that you have rebranded your union, you should resist all entreaties by self-serving politicians who might want to use you to cause mayhem during the coming governorship election, just tell them to go and use their children for such undemocratic purposes. Ondo State people have vowed that never again shall we witness election brigandage in this state. Ondo should  not be a blood bath pool.  People  of the state are not bush rats that could be captured , our focus is one man one vote”, he said.
Imploring  it on the transporters to maintain good driving culture, Governor Mimiko said People might not have realized that road accident is the highest cause of death in Nigeria adding that this has been proved by statistical research.
“So, until we start to do things in line with best global practices, we might continue to experience negativity as against positivity” the governor stated.
Mimiko further  said since transportation is a basic ingredient for sustainable development, his administration is striving to ensure that similar projects are sited  in  other parts of the state.
“We have already put necessary machinery in motion for the replication of this project at the Benin/Owo motor park, Akure and in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Areas  as provision has been made to that effect in the  2012 budget”.
Equally, the Governor mentioned that, we hope to achieve similar projects in major towns of the state.
Reiterating the ban on sale of alcohol at the park, the governor said the ultimate desire which of  government is to preserve lives and avoidance of accidents on our roads through the culture of right mindedness.

LATEST ON OSOPADEC LOOTING:

EFCC is rounding up investigation on looting of OSOPADEC money in Ondo State. One of the high moments of the discovery is withdrawal of #300,000,000:00 (Three Hundred Million Naira) in one swoop across the counter at First Bank branch of Alagbaka Akure by OSOPADEC Secretary. This withdrawal was facilitated by one BIMPE, daughter of a one time Labour Leader in Ondo State from Ilaje who is now an S.A to Mr. Governor. The said Bimpe who is a worker in that bank broke down in tears before EFCC officials and confessed without much ado. The money among several billions could not be accounted for. At the last count, the following has been interogated (1) Debo Ajimuda, (2)Dr. M.A.N Ali, (3) Commissioner for Special duties, (4) Commissioner for Finance, (5) Secretary to the State Government,(6) Accountant General, (7) Bimpe.......(8)OSOPADEC Cashier. (9) Pastor Oyekan Arije. Oyekan Arije denounced the way OSOPADEC money was mismanaged before EFCC. EFCC have equally stumbled on a number of illegally acquired assets which include 27 exotic cars, Gold of various value, Housing estates at Lagos and Abuja apart from cash which source cannot be explained in their various accounts. Debo Ajimuda was said to have opened open up on everything he knows on the looting and this realy assisted EFCC in getting to the root of this matter as he is a mere agent. All are on EFCC administrative bail. EFCC will charge them to court soon. Watch out. The good people of Ondo State are grateful to EFCC for rejecting all attempts to compromise them. Ondo State shall soon become a place of pride.

"WE MADE LOVE AND WE BOTH ENJOYED IT"-KING WHO IS STANDING TRIAL ON RAPE CHARGES

The embattled Alowa of Ilowa in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State, Oba Adebukola Alli,  standing trial before an Osogbo High Court for alleged rape of an ex- corps member, yesterday, got off the hook on three of the four charges against him.
Justice Oyejide Falola dismissed three charges out of the four counts preferred against the monarch for the failure of the prosecutor to substantiate the allegation before the court.
Alli, who was accompanied to court by his wife, had, since 2010, been facing four counts charge of rape, kidnap,
assault and deprivation of the liberty of the ex-corps member and had filed a no case submission before the court on the last trial of the case.
The court, however, ruled that the monarch has no case to answer as regards the allegations of kidnap, assault and deprivation of liberty, stating that the prosecution had not tendered any proof to support their allegations.
Justice Oyejide Falola, however, overruled the monarch’s application of a no-case submission on count one of the rape case and ordered the accused traditional ruler to appear before the court to defend himself on how he got the consent of the victim before making love to her as he had confessed to the court that he made love to her and that both of them enjoyed it.
“The accused person has set up a defence of justification by confessing to have made love to the victim. On count one, I overruled the no-case submission, but sustained the no-case submission on count two, three and four,” Falola ruled
Meantime, Alli has condemned the suspension of 35 students of Ifelodun Grammar School, Kiloru, who were on the court premises to protest against his continuous trial penultimate week.
At the resumed hearing of the case before Justice Falola, Alli, who spoke through his counsel, Taofeek Tewogbola, lashed out at the state Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Kalafite Adeyemi, and the Director of Public Prosecution, Mr. Dapo Adeniji, for their alleged role in the suspension of the students.
The government had last week through the Ministry of Women Affairs suspended 35 students of the school owned by Ilowa community and five other towns in the area for staging a protest on the court premises while they were supposed to be in their classrooms.

MIMIKO'S GOVERNMENT IS RECKLESS

Prince Joseph Adedurotimi Adewusi is a former Military Administrator of Akwa-Ibom State and a retired Navy Captain. He is one of the governorship aspirants in the forth coming election in Ondo State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.The Ose born crown prince, in this interview with Yinka Olatide- Richards, spoke on his ambition and other sundry issues.
Excerpts:

As a former Military Administrator of Akwa-Ibom state, can you share your experience with us?

Well, that was my first baptism in political power, incidentally that was under a military regime which means there was no House of Assembly, so our decision were faster. We took decisions at the executive council meeting and our decisions and policies were implemented without any obstacle but unfortunately that period the allocation accrued to the state was not fat and what I did was to improve on the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). The revenue shot up from #7m to 22m per month and that really helped me in executing so many developmental projects which had impact on the people of Akwa-Ibom State and till date, I am still remembered for my impact, the government invites me for events and I have received about twelve chieftaincy titles there.

What were your challenges then having govern in the southern part of Nigeria?
Thank you. The challenges are similar, you know Akwa-Ibom is a multi-ethnic state with the Ibibios having the majority and there are other smaller tribes so, the challenges are similar to what we have here. When it comes to appointment, one needs to be careful in his decisions to reflect the interest of all stakeholders in the state, you have to site projects carefully to reflect on all maps of the state, so, the challenges have prepared me for the one ahead and that is why I am the best for the governorship seat come October 20 when the people of the state will vote for change

As a governorship aspirant of a party who lost in the last election, how prepared are you?

Well, I am well prepared. My experience as a former military administrator is an added advantage for my party, I am more matured politically and age wise, I am a leader and a father who has managed people successfully and having reached the rank of a navy captain, I have held different positions in the navy and outside the Navy.
For example, I was a member of armed robbery tribunal in Lagos, that gave me opportunity to interact with the judiciary. I have been a member of the contract review panel in cross-river state and that gave me another opportunity to learn how projects are sited, how projects are evaluated and implemented. You also know who is defaulting and who is not. This will make governance easy for me when I am elected into office.

As an experienced administrator, what are your chances among other aspirants in your party. And how do you intend to leverage on your political and leadership legacies for you to pick the party’s ticket?

Let me tell you that Ondo State people know those who are matured to lead them and they also know where to cast their votes. Unfortunately, we have a serving governor who believes in violence and rigging. Let me tell you, I witnessed rigging of the first order in the last election and that has thought me a lot of lesson. We must be vigilant and police our votes properly and make sure that our votes are not bought or sold at any level. I believe with my experience both within and outside navy. I am one of the four aspirants who have travelled very widely in all the five continents of the world. I am at home in Indonesia, America, Brazil, Germany, France, Russia to mention but a few. Traveling is part of education and I will like to transform my state with all these developmental projects in these continents. I will transform my state to a level where transportation is efficient, water is efficient, the whole system is efficient and the rural populace is enjoying the dividends of democracy. So, I believe am the best in the three parties in the state

Sir, all the state owned companies are moribund. What are your plans for the unemployed youths and how do you intend to revamp these industries in order to create jobs for the people of Ondo state?

Thank you. There is this believe in the political circle especially during electioneering campaigns that governors will create jobs directly. It is the duty of government to put amenities in place, create a conducive environment for would-be investors. Those amenities would attract investors and let me take Olokola as an example, that project would have created over 10,000 jobs in two years. Luckily, the federal government is a PDP government and if I am elected, the PDP government in the state will liaise with the federal government in expediting action. It is a pity the present government in Ondo state has completely neglected that project. I am going to focus on that project to create more jobs for my people.
Before Dr. Agagu left office, about 103 companies have signed MOUs to bring in their partners but since then, all have been abandoned because Mimiko’s government is focused on cosmetic projects, building markets by the road side and painting everywhere with Labour Party colours. The construction of round-about and all other projects that has no impact on the people have been become the focus of the governor.
When I am elected, I will set up a technical committee to review all the industries that we have in the state with the aim of activating them. And when they are activated, I will sell shares out to the public and to foreign interests, and government will just own between 10 – 15 per cent shares. For instance, if Oluwa glass is activated, it will create jobs for people in Okitipupa division, the ceramic in Ifon will also cater for the zone and to do that, government only needs to create enabling environment for investors. For the ceramic, the Taiwans and  the Chinese are experts in the field, we will only provide the infrastructure and the Labour required and these  are the people of the state while the partners will bring in the machines. When this is done, jobs will be create and it has its multiplier effects. There will be circulation of wealth. This administration has done nothing in terms of employment it has only employed over 100 special assistants.
There will be employment of youths, market women will be empowered and the entire populace will have course to jubilate because we will focus on building the people.

Your opinion on the state of the economy?

Ondo state economy is stagnant. Go to the people you will know that the  people are suffering. Mimiko is busy wasting money on projects that have no impact on the people. These are projects individuals do in Lagos. Companies are meant to build markets and round about but this government has lost focus. When companies build such projects like what we have in lagos, they will have their name on the projects and the government will only have to tax them. This government is reckless, Agagu spent 6years without borrowing and he left government without putting the state to any financial embarrassment. The #38billion Agagu left in office could not be accounted for by Dr. Mimiko. What we have in the state is reckless spending where money are spent without budgets

The Labour Party in the state has claimed to its credit the defection of PDP stalwarts to the ruling Labour Party. What is your reaction to this?

The real picture of things is that people are decamping from the Labour party to the ACN. What is happening to the Labour Party is sympathetic. So, the little defections we have in our party cannot affect the PDP.It is Labour Party that has problem because so many gladiators have left the party for ACN.The likes of Boroffice, Abena and so many people who started the party with him.

What is the possibility of your party winning an election with all the internal wranglings?

My brother! there is no faction, no crisis in our party. What we had in the past was between January and March but I want to assure you that our party is united. It was Mimiko who was sponsoring people to believe that there is crisis in our party but all is over.

As a PDP governorship aspirant, what is your message to the people of the state?

I want to appeal to the people of Ondo State to be calm and vigilant. They must take their future in their hands and avoid being bought. On the voting date, 20th of October, I will clock 59 years on earth and I urge them to give me a birthday gift by voting me as their governor and I promise to work hard until Ondo state is transformed. Governor Mimiko is deceiving the people that he is close to the president  that is why he is wasting money on propaganda splashing money on editors to show his pictures with the president.but I know he is confused and he is faced with a lot of problem, so, people should disregard his antics

GENEVIEVE NNAJI TOPS 5 HOTTEST CELEBRITY WOMEN LIST

Mirror, Mirror on the wall; who is the Most Gorgeous of them all?!
From brains to busts to business sense and butts, perfect manners to a polished image; sultry demeanour to striking confidence; incredibly sexy, and a flawless sense of style. Brilliant success in their fields, and good public persona…these are the Top 5 hottest Celebrity Women on this side of the planet (in no particular order)!
Genevieve Nnaji:
It seems “Ms. Nigerian Sweetheart”, Genevieve Nnaji, has been hugging the spotlight forever. We never get tired of seeing her beautiful smile on blogs and on the pages of magazines. Genevieve gets more attractive with age. She’s the girl-next-door with beauty that
seems unsullied and virtuous. With all the beauty enhancements rumours- bleaching tablets, to boob jobs and butt pads in the entertainment industry, Genevieve remains an unblemished beauty- free of nips and tucks. We can imagine her in her 50s still looking as amazing as when she marked her 33rd birthday. We love her style- ingenious, easy and yet sophisticated.
Debola Esho: Genevieve Nnaji rocks! She is the kind of girl you want to go back to after work. She’s not going to get the whole football team casting lustful stares at her, but for a man with good taste and class, you know she’s the kind of woman that’ll make you look good anytime you introduce her in public- sweet, clean and very pretty!

Tolu Oniru:
Meet Toolz, the girl with the most mind-boggling figure in the world! Toolz is like the carving of a goddess, something Michelangelo could have sculpted in his days. Men (even women!) wonder what she’d look like naked because it is almost inconceivable for anyone to be created with every feminine attribute in generous proportion like she has. This makes the OAP the most wanted African woman alive! Every Nigerian man would want to, at least kiss her hand and ask how it must feel to come in such a body worthy of worship. With a killer body comes a killer career. There’s nobody as good as Toolz on the radio on a hot Lagos afternoon.
Chinedu Anyiam: The first time I saw Toolz in a magazine, I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. She’s just like a vase- a very well-sculpted vase that is meant to just sit on my table and look good- without any flowers in it! Her figure confuses me, but it’s the good kind of confusion. I don’t know how the guys in her office can keep a straight face and work while she’s there. It’s got to be a tough job for them.

Kemi Adetiba:
Kemi is classic beauty. Her sexiest feature is her intellect; not forgetting her newly svelte figure- something she acquired through a lot of discipline and hard work. That, too, adds to her résumé as one of Nigeria’s most sought-after beauty. An inspiring go-getter, Kemi continues to push the boundaries, succeeding in almost every area of entertainment and still able to look like a princess at the underbelly of sheer diligence and industry. She knows a thing or two about everything in the world – Politics, basketball, music- name it, and have served brilliantly on and off the camera as one of the most liked presenters and hosts of radio and TV programmes. Guys love Kemi because she seems like she could roll up in a shirt and watch football with him all night, and still be as sexy as ever the next morning!
Deji Adekola: Kemi has a lot going for her and it gets better because she seems to understand that beauty doesn’t end with the brains; a woman has to look as sexy as her brain. I am all for women getting all the knowledge in the world, but when it comes to me and you, I want a pretty hot woman by my side- brains and beauty. Kemi fits that bill totally.

Tiwa Savage:
That good-girl face attached to that bad-girl body is a winner anyday! It is easy for people to hate on Tiwa because…really it’s just not fair! How can she be so beautiful and then can actually sing?! Isn’t she supposed to be dumb and shallow and stupid? I understand the pain of having to look at one of the most beautiful black-skinned woman who actually has real talent! An amazing combination that can easily intimidate. And for every song Tiwa belts out, whether dressed in an apron or in cat-woman get-up, she comes out looking more beautiful and having our boyfriends drool over her! Uugh!
Joshua Mila: Tiwa is hot. All you see when you look at her is a girl that’s going to build your world OR wreck it, because when a girl so fine dumps you, you are never going to forget her. And all your pain will be transferred to whoever comes next. So sometimes, I stay away from girls like that. As a man, you have to be sure she’s in your league first, so you don’t suffer unnecessary heart-ache and become the butt of your friends’ jokes afterwards.

Damilola Adegbite:
The actress transformed right in front of our eyes, graduating from just a regular TV star to a sexy screen siren. It’s exactly the way we want an actress to look- great looks with a personality and style that seems to evolve. The sexy thing about Damilola is, apart from that walk down the red-carpet aisle months back with Banky W, her private life isn’t splashing all over tabloids. So there’s still a mystery to her that keeps us guessing, and men do find that very attractive.
Rowland Obi: Damilola is ok. She’s going to pass the beauty test over and over in the eyes of a man. She’s slim and that is very important for me because with the rate we are going, it seems 4 out of 5 women are going to be obese in another 15 years in Nigeria. So the fact that she is free from any fat at the moment, stands as the true test of beauty in my opinion.
