The candidacy of the former President of the Nigerian Bar
Association (NBA), Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), to fly the flag of the
Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), in the Ocotober 2012 governorship

the ticket.
The aspirants, at a crucial meeting yesterday in Lagos, after a hot
debate in which some of the aspirants voiced their grievances about the
process, Daily Sun learnt authoritatively that they eventually
succumbed to the supremacy of the party and pledged to work with
Akeredolu for the benefit of the party and the people of Ondo State.

to the larger caucus of the party was the National Chairman, Chief Bisi
Akande and other party elders including the National Leader, Asiwaju
Bola Tinubu, Aremo Segun Osoba, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, Alhaji Lai
Muhammed, and Chief Tayo Alasoadura among others were present. However
Chief Olaiya Oni reportedly stormed out of the meeting because an Akoko
aspirant was not picked for the governoship. Dr. Olu Agunloye, Senator
Robert Borroffice and Chief Jayeola Ajatta.
DREAM-NAIJA gathered that a reconciliatory committee was set up to
placate the aggrieved aspirants and get them to support Akeredolu’s
candidancy.
A source close to the Isaac John, GRA, Ikeja, venue of the meeting also
disclosed that Chief Tayo Alasoadura had been ratified to be the
Campaign Director-General for the party to be supported by others that
would soon be appointed in the task of mobilizing the people of the
state to vote for the ACN in the October 2012, governorship election.

tentatively slated for the party’s primaries proper in Akure, the Ondo
